Martyrs' Day : Crown Our Martyrs

Martyrs' Day

We all love to remember and celebrate days like Mother's day, Father's day, Daughter's day, Valentine's Day etc etc.. People around the globe are very much enthusiastic to celebrate these days.

Have anyone thought of celebrating a day or in other words have anyone thought of tributing our day to the martyrs of our country? It would not be surprising if you hear from people saying like what is Martyrs' Day?

I know we all are very busy with our social life and really don't have enough time to think about this day and how to celebrate it. But, if we genuinely try then we can find a way out.

By writing this blog post I am paying my tribute to the Martyrs of my nation. This post is going to be about making people aware about the Martyrs' Day and the brave Indian Martyrs. I hope and wish all of you will also pay your tribute by any means.

Let's first tell you what word Martyr means.
Martyr is a person who is killed for believing in some religion or any beliefs.
And Martys' Day is celebrated by the nation to salute all those people or soldiers who lost their lives defending for the nation.

India observes 5 days as Martyrs' Day :
  • 30 January - Death anniversary of Father of Nation i.e. Mahatma Gandhi.
  • 23 March - The anniversary of the deaths of Bharat Singh, Sukhdev Thapar and Shivaram Rajguru.
  • 21 October - Police Commemoration Day
  • 17 November - Lion Of Punjab i.e. Lala Lajpat Tai's death anniversary.
  • 19 November - Birthday of Rani Lakshmibai.

We have already missed a chance of paying tribute on 30 January. Let's not miss this time on 23 March. Let me tell you in nutshell why 23 March is observed as Martyrs' Day.

On 23 March 1931, Our three young freedom fighters were hang to death by Britishers. The trio has played a revolutionary role in our freedom fights against Britishers. But in the end they were jailed with murder charges on them and hung to death on 23 March 1931.

To pay them respect for their sacrifices our country India is celebrating 23 March as Shaheed Diwas.

I request request everyone to pay tribute to Martyrs of your country as they all have played their part in making country what it is right now.
